I had planned to leave early the next morning, but knowing we wouldn't be seeing my in-laws for a while, I kept pushing the clock back. Emma played with her grandparents until after lunch and I cried as I drove away from their farm. I think being there feels more like home to me than my own childhood home. It has a lot to do with my mother-in-law. She hasn't taken the place of my mom, but she sure loves me (and Emma) well, and that feels like home to me.
