Our blue-eyed girl. . .

I've been working with my camera a little more lately. I've decided that I really love photography (big surprise), and I'm hungry to learn more. Last week my friend Traci taught me a little bit about lighting and manual settings. Emma doesn't really have a choice but to be my subject. These are a few fun shots I took while she was snuggling with her little girls.
I've also decided that while we're in Brazil, I'm going to learn more about photography. Why? One day I want to be really good, like professionally good, Wow! good, frame-worthy good. Then I want to take pictures for my friends and family. . . for free! I do a little bit of it now, but my photography isn't as good as a professional. I'm going to practice and then one day, if you know me, I'll take your pictures, or your kid's pictures, or your dog (OK, maybe not pets), but I want to bless people in that way. I'll keep working. . . check back in a few years:) Right now I have a little girl whom I love immensely and although photos are neat, I'll never get this time back. I love our daughter. Oh, side note, this morning when I went to get Emma, she was talking and playing in her crib. I watched her for a few minutes and then she started talking more audibly: "Mama, what? Mama, what? Sanni, what? Mama, what? Babe, YA?! Babe, YA?!" Whenever Kevin and I are in different rooms, we call out to each other, "Babe?" and then the other replies, "Ya?" Then we can keep talking in loud voices to each other. Emma has really picked up on this. Yesterday I said, "Emma, come eat lunch," to which she replied, "YA? Babe?" Then she came running. I love her.
