Just a little FYI for those of you interested: The movers are coming a week from today to pack our storage items. . . washer and dryer, deep freeze, old TV, VCR, some books, and other little things. I don't imagine it will take very long. Next weekend will be our final weekend in Ottumwa. On Monday, April 6, the movers will start packing our belongings. We'll stay the night here on the 6th, but they'll start packing our beds on the 7th, so we'll check into a hotel then. They'll spend the 6-9th packing and loading. On Thursday the 9th, we'll be driven to Des Moines to rent a car. (Apparently you can't rent a car in Ottumwa, drive it to Kansas and then drop it off there. We have to go to the airport to do that.) We'll drive to Wichita and stay with our friends Ty and Amy. Friday thru Sunday we'll be in Moundridge with Kevin's family. Monday, April 13th, we'll fly to Cincinnati for 2 weeks of language training at Cincilingua. My niece Erica and her daughter Bryana will meet us there to take care of Emma while we're in classes. Providing we have our visas, we'll fly from Cincinnati to Sao Paulo, Brazil sometime around April 25!
We might have a home when we get there, although nothing is set in stone. We're in the process of house hunting through HR in Horizontina. Until we have a house, we'll be living at the Ouro Verde hotel. Anyway, that's a little bit of an update. I feel like I've written this before, so my apologies if you've already read this:) My mind is muddled today!
I've been packing clothes for a few hours now. For the most part, the movers will pack our things, but I have to decide what goes in our luggage, what goes in air freight (things that will arrive within a few days of us), and what goes in sea freight (things that we won't see for a few months.) Everything that we have packed has to be inventoried for customs purposes. Many, many details. Lots to do. . . better run!
