Success!!!! (I think)

Today I went to Lojas Becker, a store next to the hotel, and ordered our kitchen!! I think I ordered our kitchen anyway! HA!! We still don't know which house we're going to live in, but either way, the first one needs kitchen cabinets, sink and appliances installed. If we don't live there, another expat will and he'll need a functioning kitchen. Yay for him if it's already taken care of when he arrives! It's going to take 30-35 days to completely install the cabinets, so we wanted to get started. I chose not to have our translator go with us and I met with Maykel, the man who designed our kitchen. I will meet with him at our house later this afternoon so he can take final measurements before ordering and installing everything. We've been here a little over 5 weeks and it felt like such an accomplishment to me to take care of something without any help. Then again, I'd better wait until it all happens before I get too excited:)
Kevin surprised me by coming home a day early from his trip. However, since he crawled into bed at 2:45am, he probably wishes he could have had a full night's sleep in a bed instead of on a bus. Good thing they serve coffee for breakfast. However, I was too late to get coffee, so after dropping Kevin off at work, I took a little detour to my new favorite coffee joint, Zelandia's! Last week I had the most amazing Chai Tea Latte there! Seriously, I think it was the best I've ever had, including Starbucks. Today I stopped there, wondering if I could really get another one as good as the first!! Oh me, Oh my!!! I enjoyed it just as much as the first, (maybe even more), than the first one, especially since I was drinking it during my freezing cold Portuguese class!! I've decided that the latte might just have to be my little treat now and then. It's definitely worth the R$3,75 (about $1.88) that I paid for it! Yay Yay Yay!!

Today, after lunch, I took Kevin back to work because I need the car to run around after Emma's nap. On the way back to the hotel, Emma took her kitty's hands, pushed them together, and said, "Mama, Titty's paying." Kitty's praying. That's awesome, Emma Jae. I'm so glad you're teaching your kitty to pray. That was definitely the brightest moment of today!! Second best was hearing her tell Kevin, "Daddy, I love you Daddy."

Yippy for great coffee shops and kitties praying! :) And new kitchens!! I hope it was just like going to Menard's in Ottumwa! :) I'm sure it'll turn out great.
