The granite trough and other adventures

Hey friends. This is Kevin, I don't want my poor writing to confuse anyone. This is my first blogging experience but since Sandi has such a good fan-base I'm sure that many people will read it. I wanted to share a few things that you might find interesting about life here.

1 - I got a tire fixed on our car earlier this week. Somehow the guy took out a screw, fixed the tire, and filled it back up in about 3 minutes all without taking the wheel off of the car. It cost 7 reais ($3.50) and the tire is still holding air.
2 - I had an interesting experience tonight. I took the 6 hr drive from Montenegro (where the tractor factory is) back to Horizontina (where the combine and planter factory is - and where we live) tonight. We stopped to get something to eat and use the restroom about halfway here. Tonight was the first time I have ever used a granite trough. Ladies, if you don't know what a restroom trough is, ask your guy friends. They're pretty high class down here.

Here are few interesting things in portugues:

Lesson one - see if you catch my drift.

minuto = minute
minutinho = little minute
segundo = second
segundinho = little second
gato = cat
gatinho = little cat
camisa = shirt
camisinho = condom

More portuguese lessons to come....

Great first time blogging Kevin! I'm waiting for Zach to blog someday--I won't hold my breath, although he checks them all (shh...don't tell him I told you)! I love the lesson on the language--just add "ho!" :)

Hi Kevin, great to hear from you!! Granite sounds "high class" but I am guessing that is not so! Do they have Turkish toilets there? Those were so gross in France! Anyway- happy moving weekend!! Sounds like if you say the word quickly in english & add an "o" sound you can get by! ;) Jen
