Sadly, this is the only photo I took of our fondue lunch! We went to a place called Chateau Fondue in Gramado. First, we started with a little appetizer tray, which included small, dry pieces of bread, cheese, sausage, and olives. Then came the cheese fondue!! With it came soft bread, potatoes and broccoli to dip!! I could have eaten that and been satisfied, but I knew there was more to come! The main course was chicken, filet and pork, but instead of dipping it in oil, we opted for the stone. Neither of us had tried fondue on a stone, so we were anxious to see how it worked. The waiter brought a really hot stone to our table and then placed it over a small fire to keep it hot. Then he sprinkled salt on the stone and placed a few pieces of meat on it. We turned the meat after a few minutes and in less than five minutes, it was ready! Along with the meat came 14 sauces for dipping! My favorite was the Alho sauce. . . meaning, GARLIC! It was like creamed garlic and it was really strong! Mmm...my mouth is watering just thinking about it! After we were full, but not stuffed, our waiter cleared the table and brought out the best part of the meal. . . chocolate fondue!!! The best part about the dessert was that it was all fruit! OK, not really. The best part was that it was incredibly yummy chocolate, but knowing that we were dipping fruit in it seemed to make it OK! We waddled out of the restaurant and felt a good ten pounds heavier than we had entered! I have to say it was well worth it! We actually have an electric fondue pot which I'm sure we'll be using more now! I can already taste the chocolate. . .

YUMMY! I love fondue...especially the dessert. :) Looks like you guys had a great trip.
One of my favorite restaurants while I was living in Memphis was called, "the Melting Pot", of course a fondue restaurant. It's so fun to go to with a group of friends or family, and to just sit and enjoy dipping! We always felt like we were waddling out also.
