Soledade. . .

About halfway between Horizontina and Porto Alegre, there's a town called Soledade. My dad would love this place. There are several warehouses of rocks that were mined somewhere in Brasil. The rocks are massive and incredibly beautiful due to some polishing, shining and a little manipulation (like paint and dye). We spent about an hour walking through the warehouse. There were thousands of rocks to choose from and we were shocked at how cheap everything was! We're hoping to return to Soledade someday, so we only chose a few things. We bought some bookends for my dad (which we're hoping to send back to him), some bookends for us, and a small polished rock for Emma. She loves her new little ball and the temptation to throw it finally overcame her last night! Fortunately, she threw it onto the bed, toward the pillows. Unfortunately, we had told her not to throw it at all, so she hasn't seen it since then:)

Ahhhh, sounds like a day of "no throwing" at my house too.

My family likes hunting for fossils in our river rock! I especially likes the big rocks you have in Brazil! Love- Lauren
