A Hot New Ride. . .

Fancy, schmancy, perty pink seat
Emma calls this the "hair" of the bike.
Daddy teaching Emma how to ride.
I couldn't resist! It looked way too fun!
We were just as excited for her new bike as she was.

I didn't teach her to do this!!
One of our gifts to Emma for her 3rd birthday was a new princess bike with training wheels. We're still pretty amazed that we have it, especially after the process it took to get it here. Back in April, Kevin ordered it from Amazon.com, because bicycles in this country are outrageously priced. So he ordered it and had it sent to our friend Todd, who came to visit us at the end of May. What we didn't know was just how big the box was!! Todd (who's about 7 feet tall and kind of intimidating if you don't know him) agreed to carry our precious, very pink and princess-y, very massive bicycle box from the US to southern Brazil. When Kevin asked him if he wouldn't be embarrassed, he responded, "I think I can handle the heckling." I imagine it was quite a sight. Todd's flight in Chicago was delayed so he had to stay the night. He arrived here a day later than planned so he landed in a different airport and caught a ride with us back to Horizontina. The cute, girly box made it and we packed it in our car for the ride home. Todd brought other fun gifts like scrapbooking goodies, clothes and books, too, but the bike was probably the greatest! Needless to say, after he unloaded all our fun stuff, his baggage was much lighter! Again, we are so very grateful for people like this, who make living here a little easier!!
