For most of our time here in Horizontina, Emma has been the only American child. She's been OK with that, but I prayed a lot the first two years for more kids to show up. Well, here's the proof that that prayer has been answered! Over the last few months, five new couples (four with kids) have moved here. There are eleven new kiddos in our ex-pat group (seven boys and four girls - two of them were missing for this picture)!! Having twelve English-speaking children in the town has been fun. One of them, Ethan, happens to be a classmate of Emma's. At first, she didn't seem to care, but now she talks about him all the time and loves to play with him at school. One night in October we all got together and had a little Halloween party. The kids painted pumpkins, played "Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Ghost" (Halloween version of Duck, Duck, Goose), ate lots of goodies and ran around playing. It was a fun evening.
This is Helen, one of the adorable new Americans living here.
