About two weeks ago, we took a road trip to Porto Alegre. We really love road trips, but I probably wouldn't have gone on one this soon with Adri had it not been necessary. In order for us to eventually leave Brazil, Adri needs both an American and Brazilian passport. The closest place we could go to apply for her American passport was Porto Alegre. Kevin left Sunday evening for Sao Paulo because he had work there. On Thursday morning, Emma and Adri and I were driven to Longaray, a car service that JD uses. We arrived at the hotel shortly after Kevin. It was fun to get out of Horizontina for two nights. Our passport appointment lasted a whole fifteen minutes. The lady helping us didn't even look at Adri, who was in her carseat with a blanket over her! We were surprised at how easy it was. Now we wait. We were told it'll take four weeks to get the passport back, but the last two she had sent in were still pending! We weren't surprised.
Taking the bull by the horns. . .
Emma loves to pose now. This is the waterfall outside our hotel, which is right next to the building where JD has it's main office. We had a great lunch and dinner on Friday (we love the restaurant options in POA!) and then headed back to Horizontina on Saturday.
