On May 11th, Kevin and I dedicated Adri to the Lord. We are vowing to raise her in a home where Jesus is the center and our lives reflect his love for us. We know we won't do this perfectly, but we're asking for prayers to love her and teach her and grow with her as she matures into the woman God is creating her to be. We were excited to finally be able to dedicate her and to be a part of a church again. We so missed that while we were in Brazil and we're looking forward to community again!
I was really amazed that the pastor wrote a letter to each child. He explained what had happened on that important day and how important each child is to God. He read the letter to the congregation and then gave one to each family. I look forward to Adri reading it when she gets older. We had a great conversation with Emma about the difference between dedication and baptism and then we showed her pictures of when we dedicated her to the Lord while we were still in Ottumwa.
May 11th was also the 9-year anniversary of when my mom went to meet Jesus. Yet another year has passed and I still miss her. I was thankful to have something so joyful to celebrate and look forward to that day. The pain is less while the memories of her grow sweeter. I love getting to tell Emma about her other grandma. How I wish they could have met. She would have loved her Grandma Evelyn, that I am sure of!
