Birthday Night. . .

Kevin's birthday was July 25th. We got a sitter to stay with the girls and went to downtown Davenport for a nice dinner. I had planned to run the BIX7 race so we also went to pick up my runner's packet. After walking around the expo for a while, we headed to the Woodfire Grill. I enjoyed just sitting with Kevin while waiting for our food. I love getting to celebrate birthday after birthday with him. Actually, I just love that we get to do this life together. Sometimes it's a birthday, a holiday, or another special event. Sometimes, though, it's the little things, like waking up, knowing he's going to be sitting in his chair, drinking his coffee and reading his Bible.
After dinner, we walked over to the Davenport Skybridge. I've seen this bridge countless times and have always wanted to visit it. The pedestrian bridge is 50 feet tall and 575 long. It lights up at night and changes colors from red to green to blue (making it very difficult to get a decent picture)! The bridge doesn't span a river, just River Drive. We were the only ones in the bridge that evening and it was peaceful and beautiful to look out over the Mississippi River. At the end of the bridge, there's a balcony that's very close to the river.
It was a nice evening and we were happy to be out. Here's to another birthday with a great man!
