Emma with Grandma and Grandpa, who will miss her greatly!
"Do see da airpane, Mama??" was repeated a hundred times as we walked through the airport. I have to say we actually had a good time getting to our gate. Normally, I dread going through security because something stupid always happens. I dread it even more with Emma, because we're carrying more things with us. However, the security personnel were extremely patient in Wichita and we were actually smiling when we walked away from them. We made it to our gate in plenty of time and Emma stood in front of the window for almost 30 minutes saying, "Where'd the airpane go? Oh, dere it is, Mama." She was pretty excited when we actually went into the plane and she just stared out the window as we took off. She's a great traveler and we are so thankful for that! Side note: it's very difficult to change a diaper in the bathroom of an airplane!! We flew to Memphis and then from there to Cincinnati. We walked off one airplane and onto the next, with zero minutes to relax. (Keep that in mind for my next story.) Emma slept most of the second leg of the trip and we arrived in Cincinnati safely. HOWEVER, due to our quick transfer, our luggage did not make our connecting flight! We arrived in Cincinnati without 3 large suitcases and Emma's carseat!! We realized this very quickly and made plans to have our luggage delivered to the hotel. This was a humongous blessing in disguise! To give you an idea, for this trip, we each have a large suitcase, Kevin and I have a backpack, one small suitcase as a carry-on, Emma's carseat and her umbrella stroller! It's quite a feat to manuever through the airport with this luggage. We were actually pretty happy that we didn't have to pick everything up and get it to the hotel! We met my niece Erica and her daughter Bryana at the airport, got in a van and were taken directly to the hotel, sans our major luggage! A few hours later, it was delivered to our room on the 17th floor!! Very nice:)
