I don't have a lot to write about this week. Emma took 3 hour naps every day this week, so my afternoons were filled with studying Portuguese, emailing, spending way too much time on Facebook and taking a few naps! We don't have our air freight yet. I've read all the books we brought in our luggage and I can't leave the hotel room when Emma's sleeping. . . which leaves the internet and the bed! Surprisingly, I'm not going insane, but I'm enjoying the slower-paced life. Kevin has been back here for lunch every day and we love getting to see him halfway through the work day! Today Emma and I went to our new house and walked around, imagining where all our things would be placed. We have at least another month before our sea freight arrives but I want to be prepared to tell the movers where to place boxes so I don't have to move things by myself! It was fun to be in a quiet house and just be alone with Emma. The hotel is on a really busy street, so there's always traffic (loud motorcycles, noisy cars, people yelling, etc.). Our house is in what seems like a really quiet neighborhood, quite a ways from the main roads. Yesterday, Emma and I went to Jen's house. Jen and Josh are Americans and they have two little girls, Vivi and Valentina. Emma was so excited to play with their toys! Her toys consist of whatever we could fit in our suitcases, which excluded any of her balls! She picked up a few little balls and the look on her face was priceless! It was if she had found diamonds! Oh, they were pink, which totally helped! Vivi wasn't home and Valentina took a nap, so Jen and I talked and Emma played with their toys. It was great talking to her and getting an American's perspective of life here. The more I know, the more comfortable I am living here. Later in the afternoon, Jen and the girls, along with Autumn and her girls (another American family), came to the park near the hotel and the kids played while I talked with the moms. I'm soaking up the time I get with these women because both of them will be returning to the States sometime in June! Then Emma will be the only American child here:( !! Anyway, it's Friday and we've been here almost 2 weeks! I wonder if 3 years will fly by this quickly?! Have a great Friday!! Tchau!
