I have this little craft book that my mom gave me years ago. Until now, some of the crafts just seemed a little too much for Emma to do. I hadn't opened the book in several months, but last night I opened to this craft:
Basically, you just need a glass jar, nail polish, stencils (or stickers) to paint around, votive candles, ribbon and some time.
We spent well over an hour outside painting and decorating Emma's jars. I knew I had saved those jelly jars for a reason!
We had a great time! I love easy crafts!
This is Emma's goody-jar. Whatever is small enough to fit will be lovingly placed inside this tiny jar. She's picked several pink flowers along with a few tiny pebbles (of course). Then, there's a die (singular of dice), a teeny tiny suitcase, and a few palm tree seeds. Now, her goody-jar has her name on it!! She's pretty excited!
After we painted the jars, we tied ribbon around the tops and placed votive candles inside. Then we lit the candles and watched the images sparkle. So fun. Emma was awfully proud of her craft when her daddy came home.
Oh, Mr. Elephant helped Emma. He's pink, but he is definitely a Mr. I asked Emma one time if maybe we should call him Mrs. Elephant, because he's pink. She replied with a very firm N-O! All her animals are Mr. Mr. Puppy. Mr. Elephant. Mr. Hippo. Mr. Fishie. Exept Kitty. Kitty is just Kitty. No Mr. or Mrs. with Kitty. Just Kitty.
