The day after we went to Hooker, I packed our suitcases again and we stopped at Janette's again before heading to Denver. Janette and Sharon had spent the morning making homemade salsa (one of my favorite foods ever). It was another reminder of my mom. She used to can jar after jar of salsa, using produce from her garden. Every Thanksgiving, I'd sneak a few jars into my suitcase to take back to Iowa! Mmmm. It's funny sometimes how something like salsa can just about bring me to tears!! Emma spent a few more hours with her cousins and then we drove on to Denver to see more family.
