Willhoits and Gevocks. . .

At the end of February, we made an overnight trip to Fairfield to visit some friends. A good friend of ours from college (the man who officiated our wedding), lost his brother to cancer and they were going to be in Fairfield for the funeral. The girls and I drove down on a Thursday and attended the viewing and spent time with the Gevocks. Dave and Darla have four kids, all of whom I used to take care of while I was in college. Now the oldest is about to head off to college and they're all old enough to be babysitting my girls! It's amazing life changes in ten short years!
After the viewing, we drove north of Batavia and spent the night with some dear friends from our Ottumwa days. The girls went to bed and I stayed up past midnight, hanging out with one of the most amazing couples I know. The next morning, we enjoyed some more time together before Terry headed off to work. Marsha played with Emma and Adri and as you can see, Adri just adored her! It's rare that Adri attaches to someone other than her parents or grandparents, so this was really sweet to see. She was just so content to snuggle and enjoy Marsha's love.
We ate lunch and then went to see the Gevocks again. I opted not to take the girls to the actual funeral, so we visited the family afterward and then drove back to the QC. I'm not sure why we don't take that trip more often. There are so many great people in Ottumwa and it's so close! Anyway, it was a really quick, great trip, but I'm glad we did it. Next time, maybe I'll actually make it to the big O and visit more friends!!

Glad you spent quality time with the Willhoit's (love them)! It's better to spend that time than to be rushing to Ottumwa to see everyone!! I know where you live, so I can find you. :)
