I went out on a limb this semester and put Emma Jae in a ballet class. I never took any type of dance class as a kid and I never really thought I'd put my own child in a class. However, because I wanted her to be around other kids her age during the week and because she loves being a dainty little ballerina, I decided to go ahead and sign her up for ballet. She loved it! I can't say that I was very impressed with the teacher or structure of the class, but she had a great time and I'm glad we did it. Last Sunday she had an end-of-the-year recital. She was pretty excited to have a real costume and she loved that I put blush on her cheeks. I was happy not to have to do eye-liner and mascara because honestly, I just don't think it looks good on little girls!
Here's her little group of girls. She made some great friends and was pretty excited to perform with them. She even tried to memorize the moves of the girls in the class before hers.

Her hair is so thick but it stays really well once I get it into a bun!
Shortly after her performance, Emma started feeling crummy again. She had taken a nap before the show and I think that gave her just enough energy for the performance.

She loves performing for people and when she was finished, she said it was just so much fun! I'm glad I did something for her that was out of my own comfort zone. We loved watching her perform. She was adorable and just so stinkin' cute!
