Easter Weekend. . .

The day before Easter, we went to my childhood home to celebrate with several of my siblings and my dad. Dad just turned 82. It was like 75 degrees and sunny outside and 85 degrees inside the house. Someone finally realized the thermostat was set incredibly high and turned it down, thinking maybe it was an accident. Nope. Shortly after, my dad went out in the sun to "warm up"!!

After an incredible taco-style lunch, the kids were ready for an Easter egg hunt!
It was gorgeous outside and we were thankful to get out for the day!
The way my dad decorates, there were plenty of random places to hide eggs!
Her bag was full of candy! She ate a few pieces and has since forgotten about it. I'm not sure where the candy went or if it even made it back to Iowa with us! She had fun, though. Adri slept for about four hours that afternoon, so she totally missed out on the fun!
When I was little, we rode little motorcycles around for fun. Apparently, the next generation has upgraded a bit! Here are a few of the cousins, Ariane, Ranger, Sadie and Jessie.
After her long nap, Adri was ready to play!
I feel like this picture is straight out of the '80s! I've seen pictures almost identical to this with my sisters and me in them! I wonder if these girls will look back at some of their pictures and laugh like my sisters and I do!
Emma, the introvert on one end and Olivia, the extrovert on the other end!! In between are Joslin, Savannah, Sierra, and Casja.
Joshua and Caleb were a little outnumbered by the girls!

The newest grandbaby, Xander, only 6 days old!!

Every once in a while, Adri will connect with someone. I can't force it or even encourage it. It's like she just knows she's safe with that person. Earlier in the week, she was trying to have her Uncle Dustin pick her up. This day, it was my oldest brother Doug! She was just content to let him hold her for a bit. She even smiled at me a few times, like she was enjoying the shocked look on my face!
We had a great time visiting my family for the week. We considered staying the night one more night, but neither Kevin nor I wanted to drive 12 hours the next day, so we decided to hit the road late. We stayed until the end of the Wichita State game that took them to the Final Four, and then we hit Starbucks in Colby before driving until 1:30am!! We stayed the night in York, Nebraska and woke up in time to go to a random church in Lincoln.
